Brother Fat was formed to honor the passing of Count M’Butu, Grammy Award-winning member of The Derek Trucks Band. The band came together to be a part of his memorial show. The name was the fulfillment of a prophecy.

Brother Fat is an exceptional, percussion-centric jam band, playing music that crosses multiple genres of classic rock. Capable of playing pretty much anything they hear, the band can cover a wide variety of Funk, Blues and Rock, sometimes taking the improvisational jams to the edge of space and back! Brother Fat also has a few songwriters in the band and will surprise you with some impressive tunes you may have never heard.
